The E31FAQ.Com mission: Become the organic focal point supporting
E31 FAQ's.
Scope
E31FAQ.Com is a resource site serving as an extension of the Roadfly.Org discussion
board. It does not replace existing lines of communication that
work well today.
Background
Several months ago, after responding to the
umpteenth question on Roadfly on how to buy an E31 to new visitor,
the community set out to find
a method help potential and existing E31 owners get the information
they
need
fast without a lot of hassle. Most Roadfly users are naive about
the Roadfly.org search function.
Specifications/Criteria
- Utilitarian - gets the job done!
- Instaneous method of obtaining
information without the hassle. A lot people looking
for answers want the
information without having to work hard finding it
(e.g. Googling, Roadfly.Org search, etc.)
- Categorization of questions/answers is within the BMW
prescribed methodology (e.g. 10-19: Engine)
- Low Maintenance
- Based on the ASP.Net architecture, this website permits
organic growth of information with very little behind the
scenes
work by the webmaster.
- Decentralize content additions
- Using
the concept of E31 FAQ stewards; that
is, a volunteer group of E31 experts will be adding
questions and answers.
- Interactive Input
- When someone (visitor) reads an FAQ,
they have the ability to provide further commentary. The
comments are put
in abeyance for review
and
then are approved
for posting. This is done to prevent frivolous commentary.
- Found a question/answer that meets a FAQ on
line? The application offers instant "related" questions
that might be of interest.
